Chapter 1: A busy day

"Blaze, are you alright honey?"

Blaze replied to her mother with an annoyed hiss, lifting her head off the kitchen table. She had already fixed her hair, put on some clothes she was okay with, she even packed her bag. "Mom, do I really have to go? Just let me stay home, at least for today!" Blaze pleaded, which was very unsual for her. Her mother just laughed. Blaze shot her a glare and laid her head back on the kitchen table. "Don't be such a crybaby and go for it!" Her mother said as she grabbed her coat. "I'm sorry, but I have to go to work now" Blaze ears perked up and she sat up immediately. "What? You mean you're not gonna take me there?" "No, you and Flare take a bus to school today!" Blaze, once again, laid her head on the table. "Oh, and good luck with the application dear!" Bang! The front door closed. It took a while before it got through Blaze what her mother just said.

"Darn!"

Not too long after, Blaze stood by the bus stop, along with her sister. Blaze glared at Flare, who seemed to completely enjoy herself. Flare wore a short dress she specially bought for today, along with some heels that suited it perfectly. She took care of her nails, made her sure her hair suited in perfectly.. She even put on some make up. Blaze rolled her eyes and looked away from her. She didn't even bother to look on "her best" today. She just picked a white skinny, along with a pair of purple, pinkish sneakers. On top of that she wore a black tanktop and a purple vest, which she got from her best friend before she moved away. Her long hair was tied up in a pony tails, Blaze never bothered to let her hair down. More kids came and waited for the bus to come, but Blaze didn't bother looking at them. Flare on the other hand started talking to some girls, who immediately seemed to like her because of her style. Blaze muttered something to herself, wishing the bus would come soon.

Luckily for Blaze, the bus trip wasn't as bad as it seemed at first. She got to sit next to a window, and she was left alone. Just like she wanted it to be for now. Unfortunately, in order to find her way to the principal's office, Blaze had to follow Flare and her new "friends". Not like she had much of a choice, she would get lost in here on her own. As Flare just ignored her to talk and gossip about her, Blaze knew it for sure. She was completely on her own.

The talk with the principal didn't take long. He just introduced himself to them, and Blaze forgot his name already. Then he handed them their scedules and told them that he would take them to their first class of today. Much to Blaze's annoyance, the classroom Flare should be in was closer to the office. Flare was got extremely excited when she saw she and all of her "friends" had this period together. Blaze just rolled her eyes at this, being glad she wouldn't have to deal with Flare for a while. "Are you nervous?" Principal what's his name again asked her. Blaze just shook her head. "Not at all sir". The principal nodded and went on with his talk. "Your first period is English with mrs. Violet. Just in case you have any questions, please come to me" And with that, he opened up a door. The people that had been happily talking with each other all fell silent, their eyes locked on the door. An uncomfortable silence followed. Blaze shifted on her feet nervously, not really knowing what to say. The teacher, a violet coloured bunny, decided to speak up. "Ah, you must be the new student!" She smiled at Blaze "I'm mrs. Voilet. Come on in, no need to be shy" A small smile crossed Blaze's lips as she walked in, feeling a little more self confident for a bit. This immediately faded when she saw 20 pairs of eyes looking at her. "Now tell us, what's your name?" She heard the teacher say. "Come on Blaze, pull yourself together!" she though to herself. "I'm.. my name is Blaze. Blaze the cat" Some students shared confused looks with each other, whispering serveal things. Blaze felt even more comfortable now. "Welcome to our school, Blaze. Now take a seat and try to keep up with the rest, okay?" This made Blaze feel a little bit better. She looked around for an empty seat and took place somewhere in a corner of the classroom.

After a long explaination of things Blaze had already heard about, mrs. Violet told them to work on their homework while she took care of some business. Blaze easily made her way through all of the exercises. "Good thing I paid attention last year after all.. this is easy" Blaze smiled to herself and continued. That is, until she heard someone grumbling next to her. Carefully, since she didn't want to seem like some kind of dork that stared at everyone, she glanced to the side. Next to her sat a silver hedgehog whom was messing around with his ballpoint. In the end, he laid it down on his table and started searching through his bag, hoping he would find another. "Silver, would you mind to keep it quiet?" Mrs. Violet said, looking up from her own work. Chuckles and held back laughs could be heard. The hedgehog, who apparenly was called Silver, just looked down. "Sorry miss.." He replied quietly, putting his bag back on the ground.

Blaze couldn't help to feel sorry for the guy. All he wanted to do is sort out his homework properly. She took a ballpoint out of her pencase, that luckily laid on her desk. "Helping him out won't hurt, I guess.." She thought "No one else seems to be willing to help him out, anyway.." As Blaze laid the ballpoint on Silver's desk, he gave her a confused look. He seemed to be blushing a bit, but Blaze wasn't sure about this. Blaze just smiled at him and went back to her work. Silver watched her for a bit, stunned. Then he ripped off a piece of paper and wrote something down on it. Making sure no one saw, he passed the note to Blaze. Now it was Blaze's turn to give him a confused look, but she decided to read the note anyway.

"Thanks for the ballpoint =]"

Blaze couldn't help to smile a bit. "So much to thank me for a little ballpoint.." Once Blaze decided on what she would answer, she wrote it down and silently passed the note to Silver.

"No problem ^^"

With a light blush on his face, Silver smiled as well. He wrote something else down, and passed the note to her. Like this, many things were written on the little piece of paper.

".. So, that kinda is the story of my life"

"Ahh, it must suck to move away from your friends like that"

"It sure does"

"Hey, would you like to sit with me during lunch break?"

Blaze couldn't help to blush a bit when she read this. Actually she wanted to say no. She just "met" the guy, after all. On the other hand.. There was no way Flare would be sitting with her during lunch, and being known as "the loner" didn't sound very welcoming either. Especially not on her first day. With a mental sign in defeat, Blaze wrote something down, then passed the note to Silver once again.

"Sure thing, thanks Silver!"

During the next period, which she also had with Silver, Blaze took a proper look at her scedule. Silver watched her, slightly confused. "What are you doing?" Blaze looked at him and blushed a bit, quickly turning her head back. "Just making sure I get to know my scedule, hehe.." "Can I take a look at it?" Blaze was a bit stunned by his question, but eventually she handed over her scedule. She watched Silver take a close look at her scedule and wondered what he was up to. "Looks like we've got most periods together" Blaze snapped back to reality. "Really?" Silver nodded, handing her her scedule back. "Definitely" Blaze smiled, and Silver smiled back. They both had the feeling that they would become good friends.

School ended quickly. Blaze spend most periods talking to Silver, they got to know each other very well in one day. One period she was on her own, even though there was this bat that acted nice to her. Silver later warned Blaze for this girl. "Stay away from her, she means trouble!" Blaze decided not to argue with him, and just changed the subject. She would try to find out on her own what Siver meant. After school, Silver walked her home. Blaze didn't even know the school was that close to her house in the first place. "So.. are you doing anything today?" Silver asked her all of sudden, giving her a curious look. "Well.. yeah, I've got an job interview today.." Blaze replied with a sigh. This made Silver chuckle. "Good luck with that Blaze! Anyway, I should get going now. I've got something to take care of.." Blaze just smiled at him. "It's alright Silver, you can go" "Do you.. want me to pick you up in the morning?" "Sounds like fun!" Silver chuckled "Alright, see ya!" And with that, he quickly took off. Blaze watched him with a smile, then she went into her house. She had this something to take care of..

About an hour later, a scooter was parked near the entrance of a pub. Blaze took off her helmet and let out an content sign. She was happy to use her scooter again. Blaze really enjoyed driving around on it. The only reason she didn't use it to go to school today was that she didn't want to get the thing damagaged. Helmet in her hands, she walked into the pub and looked around. It seemed rather quiet for this time of the day. "Now I have to find this manager guy.." she muttered to herself. "I'm afraid I'm gonna have to ask someone.." Blaze decided to ask the barman. She walked to the bar, laying her helmet down on it for a bit. "Excuse me" When the barman turned, her eyes widened a bit. This was the last person she expected to be here. It was..

"Silver?"
